Regret is an opportunity to redirect our lives, a chance to waste less time rather than more time.

So when all is said and done — I regret nothing.

Sandra's recommendation led me to this lovely post and great isights.

Welcome to Substack Suzanne. It is a full circle experience for those of us who started blogging back when it was the ‘new thing’. Blogspot anyone 😁 (shhh, we’re not that old)

I agree--I regret nothing! I once went to a psychic who told me that I was *almost* on the right path. That really bothered me. It helped me realize that I didn't believe in a "right" or "wrong" path. There's just *my* path. And it's definitely not a paved road haha--there have been plenty of bumps along the way. You said it all beautifully.

Omg. Psychics. I have no doubt legitimate psychics exist but so many will say anything just so you pay them. In high school one told me the boyfriend I’d just broken up with was my soulmate. Of course she could bring us back together for a fee. Actually messed me up for little while!

Hey Suzanne, this is an awesome post! I totally resonate with your journey of having that dream of traveling the world and writing and getting so close to achieving your dream, but you hit a roadblock and it makes you question and regret the decisions that led up to that. That’s what sort of happened to me on Medium. But I love your use of the Acorn Theory at the end. I totally agree that we shouldn’t let regret consume us to the point where we become something we’re not. We can’t let it influence our decisions in the future and cause us to create more lies about ourselves based on an image we think we should be. Thank you so much for posting this! Your newsletter is awesome by the way! Just subscribed! :)

Absolutely! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and reflections. I loved reading them! It’s comforting to know I’m not the only one, and that so many of us are experiencing similar journeys. Glad that we’ve both reconnected with our true paths. Thanks so much also for subscribing! I really appreciate your kind words and support ♥️

That's a great perspective on regret!

"Regret is fueled by the lie that if only we had chosen differently, everything would be perfect." I love this. Maybe if we accept that what we've chosen was meant to be chosen, then we can be at peace.

It's always in retrospective that we can see how a 'bad' situation/choice actually turned to be meaningful.

Thanks for reading, Emilie! Love your reminder to look back with the intention of seeing how the result was meaningful rather than immediately judging it as bad.

Suzanne, this hillbilly has had a colorful life (more than a little strange and unusual). Most folks are afraid to engage me (not easy for me to engage others). But I'm all in! My image alone reveals who my friends are early on. Strength and honor.
