I write about the shadow work also. It’s the key to remembering the love that we are. And to open to the invitation of how much of that shadow is brought on through our own beliefs.
I hope you have fully recovered and restored from the cancer. That’s a hard one and I am sure was this invitation for you to crack open to your divine gifts. Shadow work is a gift, coming to this earth to move through the shadows to invite in the light and unconditional love is one of the most courageous things we can do. I don’t believe we just came across this work I believe the work called us in ;) I am excited and honored to read more of your offerings and learn.
I got into it because my life completely crumbled. The weight of the masks of who I was trying so hard to be in the world just shattered and I needed to figure out who I truly was/am (accepting it’s a lifelong journey). I am a facilitator of the work of Byron Katie - self inquiry practice. My self inquiry led me straight into the shadows of myself and I believed the only way to be your best and the love we truly are is through our shadows. How about you?
It’s amazing how so often the heaviness of life is what inspires us to seek the bigger truths within! I have a similar story. I got cancer at 27, felt lost in my career and living someplace I didn’t like. I felt powerless and went within. Had a spiritual awakening and was intuitively guided to shadow work processes even though I didn’t know that’s what they were called at the time. I’ve been told my a couple people I’ve done shadow work for many lifetimes, and while I have no way of knowing if that’s true, it’s very weird bc I came upon concepts and principles and techniques that I had no way of knowing because I’ve never formally studied it.
This is so helpful. I recently started keeping a list of all the things that made me feel ‘triggered’ for lack of a better term. I’ve been looking back to see if there are any patterns. Since doing it I keep coming across podcasts and articles on shadow work, so I guess it’s time I dove in!!
Suzanne, I'm fascinated by the idea of seeing what our shadows symbolically represent. I've heard about shadow work many times before, but I especially like the unique lens you bring to it. You've shown me how I could go a little further in exploring my own shadows. I will save this post so I can return to it again. Thank you! As always I appreciate all the inner you've done so that you can bring such clarity to others.

That’s great! Noticing where you feel triggered is a wonderful place to start shadow work. ♥️
